My Current Project

886 days ago in

Here is my latest project – knitted socks for Daddy.

Here is two new projects that I am working on.
One is a dark blue shawl for Alysha and the other
is a light blue Cinderalla shawl for Rachael.

My wooly socks ~ are they done?
These were great practice for knitting
a pair of socks. These are more like
slippers though, warm and snuggly- great for
cool weather.

I am currently working on a pair of knitted sock slippers. The kind that fit snuggly around your feet to keep your
tosies warm. I am using a Toe-Up pattern and I am using
my hand dyed Wool yarn to make them. I am doing this for experience on how to knit socks before I use my sock yarn.
I am learning so much. I love it.
Here is what I have done so far:

Knitted mittens for Joshy

Here are some knitted mittens for Joshy. He wanted me to make some for him. He has been wearing them a lot this last winter so they are a little worn. But they are in good shape considering a 4 year old boy has been playing with them on. (wink).

Results of the~ Greencastle Fleece Fair~

883 days ago in

The Greencastle Fleece Fair was a blast. We drove up as a family. It was so much fun. So many fibers to see and so little time. The results of this Fleece Fair was that I got a hand spinner, some wool and alpaca to spin and 2 Angora Bunnies plus lots of business cards from the vendors that were there. It was so much fun, my kids and husband even enjoyed it. We watched them sheer sheep, spin with spining wheels and pet llamas. My oldest daughter won a door prize and she is hooked. She knitted all the way home. She is doing such a great job at it too. In her door prize she got her first pair of circular needles and 10 patterns. Here are some pictures of our bunnies:

My First Dyed Yarn

Here is the first yarn dye that I have done.
I used PAAS Easter Egg coloring kit with vinegar.
The yarn was an off white Wool of the Andes which
is 100% Peruvian Wool from KnitPicks.com
I love how it turned out I can’t wait to start
using it in a project:
